RESTON, Va. - Emotions have been running high over health care across the country. Now, town hall tensions have come to Northern Virginia.
The town hall troubles continued Tuesday three hours before an event in Reston, Va., with Howard Dean and Congressman Jim Moran.
Moran said he had plenty of concerns. "I hope that they leave their guns behind," he said.
That happened at a rally in Arizona where a man carried a gun as part of the AR-15 group which encouraged public displays of firearms at town halls. Then there are the dramatic displays from pro-life advocate Randall Terry.
Meanwhile, there's another contentious gathering in Springfield. "There is confusion all over the place and there is nobody in authority explaining it to us," said one man.
Inside, Congressman Gerald Connolly tried to clarify matters for almost 500 retirees who voiced concern -- some over fact, some fear.
"I think this doesn't pass the smell test both for our physical health and the financial health of America," said a woman.
Connolly got an earful, but also shot back at critics of the plan. "While there may be the impression out there especially if we watch too much of Fox News...," he said.
