(Sports Network) - Running back Edgerrin James officially signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.
To clear a spot on the roster, the Seahawks terminated the contract of running back T.J. Duckett.
The 31-year-old James rushed for just 514 yards and three touchdowns on 133 carries while adding 12 receptions for 85 yards in a reduced role last season for the NFC champion Cardinals.
Since his signing in Arizona as a free agent prior to the 2006 season out of Indianapolis, the Miami-Florida product compiled 2,895 rushing yards and 16 scores on 794 carries over 45 games (32 starts).
He added 74 catches for 506 yards for the Cardinals, who won the NFC West and advanced to Super Bowl XLIII before suffering a heartbreaking 27-23 defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Upset with his lack of use in the offense, "Edge" asked to be released by the Cardinals this offseason.
Over 141 games through 10 pro seasons with Indianapolis and Arizona, the south Florida native has gained 12,121 yards with 80 TDs on 2,982 carries, supplementing his rushing prowess with 3,345 receiving yards and 11 scores on 430 receptions.
