RE celebrities adopting kids; there is no way that anyone can tell me that the persons' celebrity, income, etc., doesn't play a part in that persons' being able to skirt the rules that the rest of us have to play by. It seems these famous folk can go in, scoop up a child, and take it right home, whereas everyone else has to wait and sift through mountains of red tape.

I find it interesting that there is such an outcry over Madonna's adopting a child from an impoverished country, but Angelina Jolie is made out to be the reincarnation of Mother Teresa. To me, adoptions of children who desperately need families are wonderful, no matter the country, so long as the parental rights are not being trampled. That this involves a celebrity is of no consequence, I think. It just makes for good headlines.
