As I recall, in the original posting on this story, the KKK grand dragon (or whatever they call themselves these days) claims they were INVITED in by someone in the community, which seems to mean (unless they are lying, which they just might be) that someone IN that particular community is a "robe carrying member." You'll notice that whoever it was got this started was coward enough not to let on.
One of the most interesting parts about them (before I was VA-Lady, I grew up in Indiana, which had a long and odious history of Klan activity) is that they are abject cowards, hiding behind their robes, liars, and thieves. Once, when I was a kid, they burned a cross on the WRONG farm front lawn. The black people were three farms down, by the creek. And one other time (not so long ago, and keep in mind that they are obviously alive and well) the did it to a white farm family, whose only sin was that the wife was an EX-Catholic.
