Student Says Terps' Portis Copied His Quiz Answers

A former University of Maryland student appears to be shedding some light on the academic issue that has sidelined backup quarterback Josh Portis for the season.

Former student Brandon Bullock claims Portis copied off his paper during an American Studies quiz last spring, causing both students to be questioned by the graduate student who taught the class. The school has confirmed Bullock's involvement in a cheating case. Portis has said he made a mistake involving the school's academic code of integrity but hasn't specified how he broke the rules.

Portis is a transfer from Florida.
