   posted 4:39 pm Mon September 10, 2007 - Washington
Mayor Adrian Fenty took another step Monday in his efforts to distance himself from the security details of his predecessors.

Fenty rode a Metrobus and a Metro train without any security, though he did have Councilman Jim Graham (D-Ward 1) or an aide with him.

Wowzer
I hope he is safe. I commend him for wanting to stay in touch with the average citizen and experience first hand continuing day-to-day life in the city.

Unfortunately there are a lot of nutcases out and about that make a well-known person more of a target.

I hope he can successfully and safely balance accessibility and securtiy.
