Fenty Woos Developers for Poplar Point

D.C. officials are trying to lure developers to build on Poplar Point, near the new Nationals ballpark.
The city rolled out the red carpet Wednesday with a morning tour boat cruise along the Anacostia River, a free breakfast buffet and a pep talk from Mayor Adrian Fenty.
The mayor hopes the long-neglected parkland will spring to life with houses, offices, shops, jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue.
The lead investor in D.C. United wants to build a soccer stadium for his team there, but city officials have put those talks on hold.
Fenty says the city wants to make sure it finds the right development partner, one that will be creative.
The city has set an October 19th deadline for proposals.
Officials aren't sure how many submissions they'll get.
