Police Hunt Man Who Attacks Women in Columbia Heights

The D.C. Police Department's Sexual Assault Unit is looking for a man who has been attacking women in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

Detectives believe one assailant could be responsible for as many as three attacks in as many months. In each case, the attacker approached his victim in a stairwell or while exiting an elevator in an apartment building. He physically and sexually assaulted them and fled.

All victims described the attacker as a black male in his twenties, 5'9" to 5'10" tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds with dreadlocks wrapped in a bandana.

June 3, 2007 at 3:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Harvard Street, N.W.
August 7, 2007 at 4:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Sheridan Street, N.W.
September 8, 2007 at 2:00a.m. in the 1400 block of Columbia Road, N.W.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 202/727-9099 or the department's Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777. All calls to Crime Solvers are confidential. If a caller provides information through Crime Solvers that leads to an arrest and indictment, he or she will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

When this guy is caught and convicted, it sounds like a case for three strikes and you lose your cajones.
