A federal jury on Thursday convicted 35-year-old Michael Malloy of making child pornography on Thursday.
According to trial testimony, Malloy enticed a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual intercourse at his residence. Investigators say Malloy videotaped the encounter at least once.
Police say they found the videotape during an August 1, 2006 search of Malloy's home.
Malloy was a sergeant with the U.S. Capitol Police during this time.
He faces between 15 and 30 years in prison at sentencing, which is set for December 10.
Malloy is scheduled to go to trial on November 27, 2007 in the District of Columbia Superior Court on one charge of 1st degree sexual assault.
