First and foremost, I am a graduating senior at Delaware State University, and I really find it inconsiderate that some people would write rude and childish comments about the situation that occured at my school early yesterday morning. First of all anybody who said that the would take away financial responsibility if their child was outside at 1 am, either you must not have any children or you must not have attended college, we are a college environment where we get a education and still have time to socialize and find a true balance of the two, despite a few students. And to the person who wrote about that it must have to do with drugs or money, that was a very ignorant comment, people have other types of disagreements and people handle them differently as you can see, it does not always have to do with drugs, money, or anything else of that nature. Another comment was given about the fact of the article stating that it was a School for Colored Students, and thats exactly what is was, yes now they use the term HBCU, but when you write a article stating facts you have to use the correct terminology and at the time that Delaware State College was founded it was a school for colored students, now that it is Delaware State University it is a HBCU. This story has been given a lot of press, because this is not an everyday event that you hear about like neighborhood violence, this is a 400-acre college campus, and if your child or a member of your family went there you would want to know, wouldnt you, and at the time of the situation police could not locate the persons involoved, so that was information that needed to be shared with the surrondings communities. Lastly I would like to thank the campus police for their handling of the situation, nothing was chaotic, everything was kept in a orderly fashion nobody can write comments about that. So dont assume, guess, or speculate cause you werent there.

They were returning from a caf?, certainly not a place of serious study.

well doc who .. you're not providing financial support for those wounded persons and maybe they have a good excuse .. like coming home from a study session .. or a part time job .. as for the refusal to cooperate .. maybe the guy fears for his life ...... back to being up late .. first of all .. we're talking about adults here .. you know 18 or older ...beddy by time at 2300 hrs is kinda silly for an 18 year old .. now .when I was I college .. I heard of study sessions going to two or three .. even later ..in the morning .. OR .. studying for an early by staying up all night .. at my college .. tests were held on Fridays .....

COLORED???? Granted they are talking about when the school was founded...but this isn't 1891...."colored" is not appropriate word in a article written about a HBCU in 2007!!!

Going to college is expensive. If I found out my son or daughter were hanging out at 1am on a week night my financial support would end immediately.

Also the youth from DC who was shot is refusing to cooperate! What the heck is that about? Makes me think the young man shot in the ankle may have some involvement, just my opinion.

my sister graduated from DSU, and i have friends from my highschool that go there. i go to NSU (Norfolk State University) and a kid from DC stabbed this 2 other kids on campus, one of them was killed. this happened in april, and a few days ago, A morgan state student was shot dead right outside the campus.

Whats going on?
