Naval Academy Resolves Food Distribution Problem
posted 12:45 pm Mon September 24, 2007 - WASHINGTON
A U.S. Naval Academy official says the service academy has addressed problems with food distribution that arose briefly last month. Superintendent Vice Admiral Jeffrey Fowler says the problem was due in part to more mandatory meals and the renovation of the academy's dining hall. He says the issue was resolved early and the food supply and quality is adequate.
Fowler spoke at a Board of Visitors meeting in Washington on Monday.
The board, which functions like a public university's board of trustees, also received an update on the academy's new sexual harassment prevention program that began this semester. So far, more than 900 of nearly 1,200 first year students have attended the first session.
