A woman remains hospitalized after she shot by another woman while leaving work at the Safeway grocery store on Columbia Road in Adams Morgan about 12:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the victim and the shooter know one another. One of the victim's co-workers says the shooter is believed to have dated the victim previously. Safeway employee say the victim was leaving work with a group of employees when the shooter walked up, mumbled something, and shot her in the head.

Police say they have a suspect but they have not released her identity.

Police are urging anyone with information on the shooting to call 202-727-9099.
