Hospital Manager Drops Lawsuit Against County
posted 12:01 pm Tue September 25, 2007 - Upper Marlboro, MD.
The company that runs the financially troubled Prince George's hospital system is dropping its lawsuit against the county.
The new chairman of the board of Dimensions Healthcare System says the lawsuit was dropped as an opportunity to get a fresh start and remove distractions from providing health care to patients.
Dimensions filed a lawsuit against the county after County Executive Jack Johnson withheld $14 million in subsidies that had been approved by the City Council, blaming the dimensions board for mismanagement.
Dimensions argued in court that the county had gone back on a promise.
Johnson's spokesman says that now the lawsuit is off the table, the door is open to positive discussions for Dimensions to move forward.
