Endeavour Astronaut Returns to High School

Astronaut Alvin Drew returned to his Alma Mater, Gonzaga College High School, Tuesday to speak with students about his recent journey to space.
"It's just a mind blowing experience the first time you look out the window," the 44-year-old Drew told students. "(A picture) really doesn't prepare you for that whole scene being wrapped around you." Colonel Drew spent 12 days in orbit aboard the space shuttle Endeavour, flying more than 5 million miles.
Gonzaga student Corey Davis said, "It was awe inspiring because it was somebody who came from where we are now, and now he's been in space. It makes you want to work hard because you know you can accomplish something because he did it."
Drew's message for the students was a simple one:
"If you have an ambition or something that inspires your passions, you really need to go out there and take the steps to pursue it."
