D.C. Police say the suspect in the shooting of a woman outside the Adams Morgan Safeway last week turned herself into the Fugitive Task Force Monday morning.
Thirty-four-year-old Raina Johnson is charged with assault with intent to kill while armed. Police released her picture on Thursday, asking the public to help track her down.
Investigators believe Johnson approached the victim outside the grocery store just after midnight Tuesday, mumbled something, and then shot her in the neck.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where, at last report, she was listed in critical condition.
Her identity has not been released because she is a witness in the case.
Police say Johnson knew the victim. The victim's co-workers say the two had dated.
