Witnesses Say Alleged Delaware St. Gunman Admits Shooting
posted 8:18 pm Thu September 27, 2007 - Dover, Del.
Court documents unsealed are shedding new light on last week's shooting at Delaware State University that injured two students from D.C. According to a police affidavit, the 18-year-old freshman accused of the shooting admitted firing a gun and promised to stay out of trouble if he got away with it.
A witness told police that Loyer Braden, of New Jersey, showed up at an apartment after he had been questioned as a person of interest in the shooting and was "visibly shaking."
A witness also told police of meeting Braden on Sunday, after authorities determined Braden was a suspect, and listening while Braden talked about the shooting.
Information in the affidavit was unsealed Thursday following a request by The Associated Press.
Braden is scheduled to appear Friday at a preliminary hearing on charges of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
