vanative .. funny you mention gay etc clubs in high schools .. I am very familiar with a case down in Georgia ,, where a young woman wanted to form a gay/bi/trans tolerance club in iher high school .. at first it was accepted .. then the religious right got into it and the club was banned on the grounds that it "didn't have any connection to curriculum" ... well .. the ACLU then got into it and the club ended up being reinstated .. because .. the judge ruled that neither did the political party clubs ..chess .. etc .. or any of the school's athletic teams ... so watch what you wish for .. since if the anti-abortion club gets standing .. so can white supremecists, Chavez/Castro fan clubs .... anti-war clubs .. PETA .. The Green Party .... Musim appreciation .clun ..and last but not least .. a pro-abortion club ...etc... ..

YOU KNOW WHAT? Our rights are slowly being etched away. I am Pro Life and I don't give a damn who knows it. I think it's wrong and it's murder. I do have my right to my opinion and I think these kids have rights too. I am proud they are standing up for what they believe. This reminds me of Christmas and going into the stores and those in charge ordering their employee's to say "happy holidays" instead of Merry Christmas. Balloney! If it wasn't for Christ there WOULD BE NO CHRISTMAS! I absolutely won't go into stores that act out like this.. nope..won't do it.

I go to Colonial Forge and this is an outrage! You are forcing your religious beliefs to guide your judgement. This is not about supporting Christians or "i'm glad to see the christians stepping up". Young Republicans and Young Democrats is for getting people who are about to vote into a right state of mind to vote. It encourages kids. We have people who will be turning 18 and will be voting in the next election coming up shortly. "Why not to allow the pro-life club?" I will tell you why, you will be causing so much drama and outrage to the school. The Fellowhsip of Christian Athletes is not united against something else. Pro-life club would be. You are splitting the school up and causing more drama! I would rather die before I see that pathetic excuse for a "club" to go up! I will be outside my school protesting with the hundreds of other students! If you want to create a club like this go to your church or join the young republican club considering the fact that most of the republicans running are pro-life! STAY OUT OF MY SCHOOL! I'm not all for aboritons, I would never have one, but there is always a line to be drawn on the influence that one has on others. My school will be caotic if this goes through. I will be on the front lines fighting this with all I've got. People are acting like having an abortion makes you a slut and that if you support an abortion you have no morals. Somewhere out there a teenager is being raped at this very second. For those who have had an abortion or who were even MADE to have an abortion this club will drive them to believing that they are a slut or they have no morals. This judgement is false and I am ashamed of those who would leap to this conclusion using the fallacy slipper slope.

Technically they need to let this girl have her club. If you do not like it you do not have to attend but in this case she is not making it a religious based (even though the underlying tones may be just that) club so it absolutely should be allowed, especially if they allow other clubs.

HOORAY for the young people! Adults always are complaining that young people have no morals and no values. Pro life doesn't mean that the kids are radicals or submitting right wing agenda. I am sure that the group also advocates abstinence as a way to protect against unwanted pregnancy as well as proper birth control methods. Anything that can be done to curtail the number of parents too soon should be applauded.

What 16 year old kid is so obsessed with fetuses and abortion unless they have been brainwashed?

This is a science, law and government affairs related issue, not a religious issue although it can be for some people. I think she has a case because this is curriculum related in the same sense that human biology is although it forces people to confront a sensitive issue and to look at violence against human life in its early stages. I think they are denying this group in order to pull a veil over something too difficult to look at. That doesn't make the issue go away and its something the youth of today does need to learn about so they can help shape future law based on facts, not facts covered up. Its not just a scare tactic if the evidence is real.

vanative, if the school system was a liberal as you make it sound they would welcome the forming of any type group, in a ALCU friendly sort of way. When government (in this case a school district) tries to censor speech, and control the exchange of ideas it's general viewed as the opposite of "liberal".

Many high schools have gay, lesbian and bi clubs. How exactly are they related to the curriculum? The school system is making excuses to exclude any group that goes against their liberal viewpoint. I hope this girl wins her case.
