A young girl is recovering from burns after District police said someone poured gasoline on her and lit her on fire.

It happened at a playground near a construction site in the 1300 block of Columbia Road Northwest.

Investigators said someone poured gasoline on the child and lit her on fire. Fortunately, she was only burned on the foot and her injured don't appear to be serious, according to police.

So far, no arrests have been made.

What a cruel and heinous act.  Please find this fiend before he does this again.  What agony and pain caused from burns.  I'm glad to know she will be okay.
