An attorney says his 19-year-old client feels "just awful" and is "devastated" about the accident on the Bay Bridge that killed a tractor trailer driver Aug. 10.
Attorney Steven Allen tells WTOP radio that his client, Candy Baldwin of Millington, feels "very genuinely sympathetic for the family" of the deceased driver, 57-year-old John Short of Willards.
Maryland Transportation Authority police spokesman Cpl. Jonathan Green said last month authorities were looking at whether driver fatigue contributed to the accident.
Authorities say Baldwin's car veered into oncoming traffic. Authorities say Short hit his brakes and hit the bridge wall before his rig plunged into the bay.
It's not clear whether Baldwin will face charges. Results of toxicology tests are pending.
