A D.C. fire captain is accused of raping a sleeping woman inside his daughter's home. The evidence allegedly includes a series of text messages sent to the accuser, according to court documents.
The 23-year-old victim was sleeping over at Capt. Tony Sneed's daughter's house in Chesapeake Beach after a party.
"They're all nice people; they have parties every weekend," said Paul Dossey, a neighbor. "It's very sad and I never thought anything like that would happen in this neighborhood. It's always been real peaceful."
According to court documents, the accuser -- a friend of Sneed's daughter-- told investigators she passed out wearing a T-shirt and shorts and woke up wearing only a T-shirt.
The accuser went to the hospital the next day, claiming she had been raped.
The accuser later text messaged Sneed, a 20-year veteran of the DCFD, asking why she was "so sore 'down there'".
According to court documents, Sneed allegedly texted her back, writing:
"I remember massaging your body trying to get you to relax a little. Maybe I got a little carried away."
Sneed has been suspended with pay until the matter is adjudicated
He is due back in court on Sept. 22.
