A water main ruptured Wednesday morning near the intesection of the N. Kensington and 4th streets North in Arlington, closing roads, officials said.

The Arlington County Department of Environmental Services dispatched a crew to repair the 20-inch main, which serves the western portion of the county.

Roughly 100 homes in the 5700 blocks of 7th N. Street, 8th N. Street and 8th Road. of the Bluemont neighborhood were affected. Repairs are expected to be completed this evening at the earliest.

School maintenance staff have confirmed that pressure has been restored to all school facilities.
