(Sports Network) - Third-seeded Italian Flavia Pennetta and fourth-seeded Russian Nadia Petrova were among Thursday's second-round winners at the $225,000 Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic. The U.S. Open quarterfinalist Pennetta got past Russian Anastasia Rodionova 6-3, 7-5, while Petrova tattooed Italian Tathiana Garbin 6-1, 6-1 at the beautiful Grand Hyatt Bali.

A pair of Day-4 upsets came when Austrian teenager Tamira Paszek took out seventh-seeded Italian Sara Errani 6-0, 7-6 (7-2) and Taipei's Yung-Jan Chan upended ninth-seeded Chinese Shuai Peng 6-1, 7-5.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? Friday's quarterfinals will pit top-seeded and defending Bali champion Daniela Hantuchova against Chan; second-seeded Swiss Patty Schnyder versus Poland's Marta Domachowska; Pennetta against Paszek; and Petrova versus fifth-seeded Italian Francesca Schiavone. The Slovakian Hantuchova lost to American Lindsay Davenport in last year's hardcourt finale here.

The 2008 Bali champion will collect $35,000.
