Republicans in the Maryland Senate have chosen new leaders.
The GOP caucus voted unanimously Tuesday to elect Sen. Allan Kittleman as minority leader and Sen. Nancy Jacobs as the minority whip.
Kittleman represents Howard County and previously served as minority whip. He and Jacobs ran uncontested for the leadership posts after Sen. David Brinkley of Frederick County decided not to run again for minority leader.
Jacobs, who represents Cecil and Harford counties, is the first female Republican whip.
The Republican caucus also voted yesterday not to take a position on November's slot machine gambling referendum.
