(Sports Network) - Major League Baseball has released its 2009 schedule for all 30 teams.
The season will start on Sunday, April 5 with a stand-alone game between a pair of undetermined teams, while most clubs will open the campaign on Monday, April 6.
Both New York teams will feature new stadiums in 2009. The Mets will open Citi Field on April 13 against the San Diego Padres, while the Yankees will begin play at the new Yankee Stadium on April 16 against the Cleveland Indians.

The All-Star Game will take place on July 14 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
October 4 will mark the end of the regular season and the final game at the Metrodome for the Minnesota Twins, who will host the Kansas City Royals that day. Target Field, a 40,000-seat open-air ballpark, is scheduled to open in 2010.
With a late start to the season, the postseason will also probably run into November. The only time the World Series was previously played in November was in 2001 after the attacks of September 11 suspended the season for a week.
