Mothers from all over certainly know who Sarah Palin is,  but many say they still don't know where the Republican vice presidential nominee stands on the issues facing working moms in the U.S.

Even as her democratic counterpart speaks at rallies, Sarah Palin remains virtually mum, and has yet to even hold a press conference. Palin's inability to disclose more of herself to the public, has raised concern among many, especially the non-partisan group, momsrising.org.

As a result, the group delivered a 26,000 signature petition to Palin's Washington office in an attempt to get the candidate to outline where she stands on pertinent issues facing working mothers such as equal pay, benefits, flexibility in the workplace, and paid sick leave.

"I'm concerned that parts of the population are taken by the fact that she's a woman, and taken by the fact that she's a mother and are not focusing enough on her political agenda," said voter Katherine Wellen.

But Palin's people refused to take the petition and turned the group away, saying they "don't have people just come up and hand deliver packages...," further frustrating the members of the grassroots organization.

"We're concerned that this is just a simple non-partisan letter asking her where she stands on the issues...," said Kristin Rowe Finkbeiner, of momsrising.org. "And they have not let us in to even drop it off."

"We just want to get an answer in terms of saying that we want to hear more about where she stands on certain things," added voter Denise Senecal.

Politico's senior editor, David Mark says shielding Sarah Palin is part of a strategy which may ultimately backfire with undecided voters. "The McCain campaign is worried she's going to say something that makes her sound naive," said David Mark, Politico Senior Editor. "They're also concerned she's going to say something that is not consistent with John McCain (web|news|bio) 's own position."

A representative for Palin's Alaska state office says Alaska ethics law precludes any campaign work to be done by or in the office, presenting another dead end for momsrising.org, which continues to wait for Palin to disclose where she stands on the issues.
