(Sports Network) - Redshirt freshman Landry Jones threw three
touchdown passes to Ryan Broyles, as 13th-ranked Oklahoma bounced back from a
shocking loss on college football's opening weekend with a resounding 64-0
thrashing of overmatched FCS foe Idaho State.

Not only did the Sooners (1-1) drop a 14-13 decision to then-No. 20 BYU last
Saturday, the program lost the services of Heisman Trophy winning quarterback
Sam Bradford to injury.

Bradford suffered a strained AC joint in his right shoulder during the waning
moments of the first half and will be sidelined 2-to-4 weeks, grudgingly
handing the starting duties over to Jones, who completed 18-of-32 passes for
286 yards and one interception.

"I was just overall pleased with our guys' fundamental play," Oklahoma head
coach Bob Stoops said. "Leaving the field, I understand we are going to see
more difficult and tougher opponents moving forward, but I still was pleased
with our basic, disciplined fundamentals and not having penalties. It was a
difficult night managing the rain and the wet and the bad weather and we still
took care of the football most of the night."

DeMarco Murray rushed 12 times for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while
Chris Brown gained 65 yards on 11 carries for the Sooners, who matched a
school record by winning their 25th straight home game, the longest
current streak in the nation.

Broyles finished with a career-high 155 yards on seven receptions.

Kyle Blum connected on 11-of-26 passes for just 66 yards for the Bengals
(0-2), who are a member of the Big Sky Conference. Idaho State registered only
six first downs and mustered only 44 yards on offense. The ground attack
totaled minus-22 yards on 32 attempts.

"It's a great experience for our guys," said Idaho State head coach John
Zamberlin. "I was proud of our guys. They kept competing and playing hard. The
positive we're going to take out of this is going back and playing in our
conference."

After a three-and-out by Idaho State on the game's opening possession,
Jones guided the Sooners to the edge of the goal line, where on fourth down
the club opted to go for the touchdown rather than attempt a chip-shot field
goal. The Bengals' defense, though, came up with a big stop, bottling up
Landry on a quarterback sneak.

Once again, Idaho State failed to advance the ball and on the first play
following a punt, Landry rolled to his left and threw a perfect strike to
Broyles for a 24-yard TD.

Oklahoma's stifling defense continued to disrupt Idaho State's attack. With
the Bengals in the shadow of their own end zone, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy
was able to sack Blum, dislodging the football in the process. Frank Alexander
scooped up the fumble and waltzed in for the three-yard score.

A 51-yard passing play between Jones and Broyles increased the lead to 21-0
with 1:18 remaining in the first quarter.

Broyles hauled in an 11-yard pass in the right corner of the end zone, which
was upheld following a video review to determine if his foot landed in-bounds,
Brown punched it in from two yards out and Murray had a three-yard TD run to
give Oklahoma a comfortable 41-0 advantage at halftime.

Oklahoma needed only five plays and 76 seconds to find paydirt on the opening
drive of the third quarter. Murray's nine-yard TD run capped the 80-yard
jaunt.

In the opening moments of the fourth stanza, Bengals running back Clint
Knickrehm was wrapped up in the end zone by Ronnell Lewis for a safety. On the
ensuing Sooners drive, Jonathan Miller raced 36 yards for the score, extending
the advantage 57-0.

Jermie Calhoun's two-yard TD run accounted for the final margin.

Game Notes

This game marked the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the
gridiron...Oklahoma has not lost back-to-back regular season games since
1999...The Sooners accumulated 564 yards of total offense.
