(Sports Network) - The Indiana Pacers signed free agent guard Luther Head to an undisclosed contract on Thursday.
"Luther is a guy we have had our eye on," Larry Bird, the club's president of basketball operations, said in a statement released by the team. "He can shoot, he has speed and quickness and he will fit in well in our up-tempo game. I think he's going to be a good addition to our basketball team."
The Illinois product was released by the Rockets in February of this past season after four relatively productive seasons in Houston. Miami then signed the versatile guard, who played just 10 games for the Heat due to a broken bone in his right hand in March.
In 265 career games, Head has averaged 8.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
