(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Rays shoot for their fourth straight win and a three-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday, when the two clubs close out their set at Tropicana Field.
Tampa Bay is coming off Saturday's 4-0 win in the second portion of this series, as Evan Longoria and Gabe Kapler both finished with two hits and an RBI. Ben Zobrist and Willy Aybar knocked in a run apiece for the Rays, who posted an 11-4 triumph in Friday's series opener.
Matt Garza got the win with 7 1/3 shutout innings and 10 K's, while Russ Springer, Randy Choate and Dan Wheeler went the rest of the way to seal the victory.
Taking the mound for the Rays this afternoon will be David Price, who is 8-7 with a 4.60 earned run average in 20 starts. Price won his last outing on September 14 against Baltimore, allowing four runs -- three earned -- in seven innings of an 8-4 victory.
The left-hander is 1-0 with a 7.00 ERA in two career starts against Toronto.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays will try to salvage the finale of this series and stop a three-game losing streak in the process. In Saturday's setback to the Rays, rookie starter Ricky Romero had a rough first inning before settling down to last six frames, allowing four runs on seven hits and four walks for the Jays, who have lost five of their last six contests.
Aaron Hill, Edwin Encarnacion and Lyle Overbay recorded the three hits for Toronto, which will send ace Roy Halladay to the mound Sunday.
Halladay has won two of three starts since a personal three-game slide, and beat the New York Yankees the previous time out on Tuesday. He limited the Yankees to a pair of runs on 11 hits in six innings to improve to 15-9 with a 3.03 ERA in 29 starts.
The right-hander lost to Tampa Bay on August 24 at Rogers Centre, falling to 12-10 with a 3.70 ERA in 33 career games, 30 of which have been starts, in this AL East series.
Tampa Bay has dominated this season series, winning 13 of the 17 meetings.
