(Sports Network) - Mark Martin kept his points lead in the Chase by winning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the first time in his Sprint Cup Series career.
Martin, the oldest driver in the 12-driver Chase field at age 50, capitalized on pit strategies and then held off the field in three late-race restarts for his series-leading fifth victory of the season.
Juan Pablo Montoya made several attempts to pass Martin for the lead before a caution for an incident involving A.J. Allmendinger ended the race on the final lap.
Denny Hamlin passed Montoya before the caution came, as Hamlin took second and Montoya ended up third.
Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch rounded out the top-five.
With the victory, Martin widened his lead after the first race in the Chase to 35 points over Johnson and 40 ahead of Hamlin. Montoya moved from 11th to fourth in points.
