(Sports Network) - San Francisco running back Frank Gore, Minnesota linebacker Chad Greenway and Arizona defensive end Calais Campbell were named NFC Players of the Week for their performances in the season's second weekend.
Gore picked up his fourth career Offensive Player of the Week Award by rushing for 207 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-10 49ers win over the Seahawks. Gore averaged 12.9 yards per carry and had touchdown runs of 79 and 80 yards, becoming only the second player to run for two scores of at least 75 yards in a game (Barry Sanders).
Greenway was awarded his first Defensive Player of the Week award after logging two interceptions, a fumble recovery and four tackles in the Vikings' 27-13 victory over Detroit. Greenway also recovered an onside kick in the win.
Special Teams Player of the Week went to Campbell, who blocked a field goal that led to an 83-yard touchdown return from teammate Antrel Rolle, sparking the Cardinals to a 31-17 win over the Jaguars. This is the second-year pro's first weekly honor.
Other nominees included Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Cardinals QB Kurt Warner for the offensive award; Bears defensive end Alex Brown, Redskins
(web | news) safety Chris Horton and Packers cornerback Charles Woodson on the defensive side; and Bears kicker Robbie Gould and Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes for special teams.
