(Sports Network) - Army has fired men's basketball coach Jim Crews.
In seven years at the U.S. Military Academy, Crews posted a record of just 60-139.
"There was a series of events that led me down the path to determine that I needed to make a change in leadership of the men's basketball program and terminate coach Crews' contract," said Army athletic director Kevin Anderson in a statement. "I am very disappointed with some things that have come to my attention in recent days and I have decided that it is in the best interests of the basketball program and the institution to terminate our relationship."
Army was 11-19 last year. The Black Knights never had a winning record under Crews, whose best season was 15-16 in 2006-07.
Crews, who played for former Army coach Bob Knight at Indiana and was a member of Knight's coaching staff for eight years, spent 17 seasons as the head coach at Evansville before taking the job at Army in 2002. He has a career coaching record of 354-348.
