ARLINGTON, Va. - A U.S. Capitol police officer was arrested for unlawful entry early Sunday morning after he was found sleeping in a woman's bed.

An Arlington resident tells ABC 7 News she returned to her home in the 1000 block of N. Randolph Street about 1 a.m. Sunday to find a man passed out in her bed. She called police, who awakened the man and arrested him.

Police say 34-year-old Thomas Patrick McMahon was intoxicated when he was arrested. He was identified by Arlington police as a U.S. Capitol Police officer. McMahon was not armed at the time of his arrest, Arlington police said.

McMahon was charged with unlawful entry.

U.S. Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider says McMahon is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal charges. U.S. Captiol police will then then conduct an internal investigation of the matter, Schneider said.
