A World War II veteran is fighting to keep his American flag waving in Spotsylvania County.
"I think I deserve to fly my flag," 84-year-old Phil Stack said.
Stack placed a 16-foot pole in his front yard of his property in the Salem Fields subdivision. Eight months later, his homeowners association has asked him to take it down. The Salem Fields HOA property manager, said Stack can attach the flag to his house or garage, but states the association does not allow flagpoles.
Stack said many of his neighbors tell him they have no problem with the display. Stack said one man even offered him $100 to keep the flag on the pole.
Stack has until October 16th to comply, or he could be fined.
