Developer Unveils Plans to Build a Peace Monument

A real estate developer wants to build a 12-story monument to peace and freedom in the middle of Washington. Jeffrey Abramson is still trying to find the right location. He says Lafayette Square, across from the White House, could be one option. He also says the National Mall could be ideal.
The National Park Service says there's no room for such at tower on the National Mall.
If it's not possible to build on those sites, Abramson says he's willing to look elsewhere and buy property to build the tower. He's asking people for suggestions on a location.
The idea for his "Tower of Invincibility," as he calls it, is inspired by Transcendental Meditation. Abramson says he meditates twice a day for 20 minutes.
Doubters should consider Abramson's success in acting on his ideas. His real estate firm, Tower Companies, has built White Flint Mall and a large office complex downtown.
