Virginia State police arrested a Florida man wanted for trying to lure a 15-year-old girl on MySpace.com in Winchester Saturday morning.

William Joe Mitchell was arrested at the "Flying J Truck Stop," around 11:30 Saturday morning.

Authorities canceled an Amber Alert last Tuesday after 15-year-old Alyssa Frank was found wandering around a Wal-Mart store in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Polk County, Fla. Sheriff Grady  Judd said the girl left her house in Bartow, Fla., in the middle of the night to rendezvous with Mitchell, whom she had met through the Internet site Myspace.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Judd said Frank was found by police after Wal-Mart employees reported a suspicious person.

Authorities believe Mitchell apparently took the girl to Alabama but brought her back to DeFuniak Springs, between Pensacola and Tallahassee on the Florida Panhandle, where they suspect Mitchell intentionally left Frank.

Mitchell has a long criminal history in Florida. It includes a charge of lewd and lascivious conduct and several charges involving violence, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
