It was business as usual in many Prince William County workplaces Tuesday, despite a work stoppage by many immigrants. The boycott was organized by the advocacy group Mexicans Without Borders to protest plans by county supervisors to deny many public services to illegal immigrants and broaden status checks by police.

A few businesses operated with smaller staffs or closed altogether, but there appeared to be a minimal effect on construction sites, restaurants and retail stores.

Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart predicts the boycotts will have a minimal effect on the business economy.

Why are legal Immigrants protesting? This makes no sense to me. They aren't the problem. The ones who sneak into the country and live outside the law (by being here illegally) that are the problem. Do it legally or go home.
