D.C. Agrees to Cap Jail Population

The city will cap the jail's population at 2,164 and drop plans to appeal a judge's threat to hold Mayor Adrian Fenty in contempt if the city didn't agree to the limit. The settlement will be filed Friday in D.C. Superior Court.
The D.C. Prisoners' Legal Services Project had sued the city to force it to comply with a 2004 law aimed at improving conditions at the District's main jail.The city has agreed to stick to the population cap except in extreme circumstances such as an unexpected mass arrest.

As I stated eariler, the reason behind this is to keep the environment safe, that includes the law abiding workers of go home at the end of the day. Get it!
