Fairfax County Police are investigating after man abducted a woman from her home after robbing her.
It happened Thursday night, about 9 p.m., in the 5600 block of Glenwood Mews Drive in Kingstowne area. The 28-year-old victim was in her bedroom when she heard a suspicious noise. When she went to check it out, she was confronted by the man who ordered her to the ground and put a metal object to the back of her head. He took money from her and then draggedher out of the house.
Once outside, they struggled and the woman was able to break free and get help. A neighbor heard her cry for help.
"What I did hear was a female screaming, and I did come out," said Rueben Delgado.
The victim was not seriously hurt.
The suspect fled on foot. Police described him as a black man in his 20's, about 6 feet tall with a medium build.
The incident has shaken the neighborhood.
"People, I think, are more worried about what happened last night and their habits are changing right now, because normally our neighbors don't have their lights on," said Delgado.
He was wearing baggy, dark clothing.
