This has nothing to do with race but the hispanics like to throw in the race card, this issue has to do with those in this country illegally but since they opened their mouth I am going to have my say. They put up signs in Manassas bantering that they build our houses, clean our homes, mow our yards...well guess what? I cancelled using a mowing service owned by a spanish guy, I also cancelled using a maid service operated by spanish people. They bit the hand that fed them so hit them where it hurts...their pockets!! If illegals and those sympathizer's think they are going to get the best of this country, they haven't seen anything yet! I recommend that any and all citizens in Virginia stop using any and all services owned and operated by spanish people. The reason I stopped is how do you know whether or not the employees who are cleaning your house or mowing your yard is here legally? You don't! I support my country, not illegals!!! Secondly, why is it that illegals can live and work here and not pay State & Federal taxes, why are they not being sought out to pay taxes? Isn't that considered tax evasion!!! What does our government do to those legal citizens who don't pay their taxes? Does this make sense? Then I thought you had to be a tax paying US Citizen to benefit from state and county services, illegals are not US citizens...they don't pay taxes but they benefit county services? Why is this?

holtonfb - I see you really looked at this article before you spouted off again. The county commish spent 30K from a discretionary fund to pay for the mailing of these post cards. Post cards cost 26 cents per to mail.

I wonder how long it took Matt Brock (who did the televised report) to actually find a PWC resident who was taken aback by this.

It is both a public announcement and political statement. It is a public announcement letting the PWC residents know that the vote for this is tomorrow and that if it isn't enacted then the voter's have the option of voting out those who do not support the measure.

I hope the publish the results of the votes to show who voted for and who voted against so the good LEGAL voting residents of PWC can show their voice on election day.

I support Chairman Stewart's efforts - I am glad to know about the upcoming vote and will let my county supervisor know my opinion. The only problem I see with the postcard is that it should have come from the whole board - this is an important issue and those of us who are CITIZENS and VOTE should be heard.

BHOLDR
This is absurd! Illegal aliens is, in my opinion, the most major issue we have as Virginians. I felt the postcard was totally appropriate. I would be at the meeting if my schedule permitted. I agree with Ravzie, above. This is ridiculous! I believe Chairman Stewart is doing the right thing all around.

post cards ?? Well, let's see .. there's cable TV .. there's TV news .. and radio news .. and newspapers .. which costs a lot less than printing up post cards and sending them out at county expense ..... let's see .. a couple of hunderd thousand at 50 cents each ... that 's a hundred grand ...!!!!!

fedup, yes we are paying too much money supporting these illegals and something needs to be done, something needs to be done to get rid of them no matter how much money it cost, it won't cost as much if we continue to support them. They know the system, use it and get away with it! We have to nip this in the bud, because Virginia and Maryland are complaining about deficits, well hello, we have nothing but illegals here who don't pay taxes and the people who do pay the taxes are getting tired of all this and moving away..I know I will soon be one less person in Maryland paying taxes, if the politicians won't do anything about it and the taxpayers are tired of it, you know we will all find some place else to live where the state and county's won't put up with this unfairness to the citizens of this country.

fedup
Millions of tax payer dollars being wasted on these illegals through housing, medical , utilities, and the list goes on and these crybabies want to cast stones at a American for wanting voters to realize what is really going on. Many Americans will chip in to help spread paper work against these illegals and those who support them so get used to it because more will be posted. Hold on to your crying towels illegals !!!!!

Ravzie
The "controversy" regarding the mailing of this card is ridiculous. As hot as the illegal immigrant issue has been, it is perfectly logical and maybe even expected for the citizens to be notified of their opportunity to voice their opinions before any further decisions are made by the Board. The cost of mailing the card? Let's double that by appointing bureaucrats to investigate the card's appropriateness.... I just can't believe it. Ridiculous.
