The vote on a controversial plan to crack down on illegal immigration is set for Tuesday in Prince William County.

Hispanic activists say hundreds of immigrants are fleeing the area because many worry police will routinely ask for documents proving their U.S. Citizenship.

Hugo Giron said he is already a victim of the immigration crack down after his tenants fled the County.

Those who support the crack-downs says sending illegal immigrants packing is the objective because they test government resources.

Giron said he has tried to find other tenants but is struggling to find anyone who is willing to commit.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?"They here about this law and they can't take a chance." Giron explained, they are worried that police will routinely ask for documents.

Winstrv,

I believe that I quoted an estimate closer to 20 million (and that's a very modest figure). I don't suggest that we throw our hands up and admit defeat, but I don't see how we're going to deport that many people. There are other options (definitely not amnesty) that would probably work better. The problem that I have is with people who complain, but offer no solutions or don't even participate in the political process. Mark my word, the guest worker program is the best shot that we have at dealing with this problem. Illegal immigrants are carved deep into the fabric of our society and there's no way that we're going to be able to round them up and ship them out. Many of them have been under the radar for decades, so they know how to stay "hidden". Sure, we can deport the ones that commit crimes (if they get caught), but that number doesn't even represent a fraction of the total number that are living in this country.
