A two-year-old boy was rushed to Children's Hospital in critical condition after falling 30-35 feet from a fourth-story apartment balcony in Silver Spring, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer. "I was walking from my building and I just saw something drop," said Erin Jordan, a family friend. "I heard a scream and I knew what it was."It happened about 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Park Apartments in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road.

Piringer says the toddler had climbed up on a bicycle on the balcony and fell to the ground.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Jordan says she thinks the boy's mother was with a newborn at the time of the incident. There is no word on the boy's condition.

"It's just heartbreaking," said neighbor Gwennetta Budd. "My heart goes out to the family because it has to be an awful feeling to just be going through this."

Montgomery County Police are investigating.
