Man Hit by Car in Critical Condition

It happened on Veirs Mill Road at the intersection of Newport Mill Road. Police said the victim is a man who was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The car police said hit the person, stayed at the scene.
The southbound lanes of Veirs Mill were closed.

Gloria you nailed it with Enterprise and Lottsford. I grew up in Mitchellville and folks walking this road has always been a problem. Since the plans to widen this roadway have not happened, no bus stops can be put out here. People walk from 450 or from Central Ave...it is tooooooo dangerous. 2 lanes, people turning those without patience using the 1/2 shoulder to go around turning cars (because it really isn't a shoulder)...it is easy to get hit on this stretch.
