This should be the main issue for all virginians!! As far as the Democrats gaining seats based off of the immgration issue, I beg to differ!!! Sure based off of polls they may change their tune regarding illegal immigration but then once in office they will do their usual flip-flop back to being pro-illegal. In my opinion Senator Webb by voting yea on the latest with the Dream Act has lost my vote. For that matter any elected offical right now voting for illegal immigration has let me know that they want their walking papers and I will be more than happy to give it to them.

The "inclusive" Arlington County Board has adopted a very well-lawyered Resolution in support of all immigrants without regard to their legality, and Governor Kaine has refused to allow State Troopers to check the status of people arrested for crimes which are not felonies. Thus our government has committed to maintaining Arlington as a sanctuary for illegal aliens without the intellectual honesty of saying it explicity. I think they are on the wrong side of this issue because local and state cops have a duty to help the overwhelmed federal immigration enforcers.

The illegal immigration debate is definitely the key issue for this Virginia voter. Voters might want to know that just today, Jim Webb, our Democratic Senator, voted Yea for cloture on the Dream Act. The Dream Act was defeated anyway, thank God. It would have allowed amnesty for illegal immigrant "children" (up to age 29). More than ever voters need to study up on candidates and learn what their records are on the issues. You can't just vote Democrat or Republican anymore and trust them to be on the same side of the issues as you.

I truly do not understand why any American would vote for those who are selling our country down the drain. Democrats embrace illegal immigration; don't want to do anything in regards to terrorism except hold the terrorists hand; haven't done anything except talk since they took over Congress; and want to raise our taxes to pay for all the services provided to illegal immigrants. Mr Connolly and the rest of those liberals loons won't be getting my vote. I will vote for those who uphold our laws and want to protect us, not destroy us. For all those who support illegals, pls take them into your homes and pay thier bills instead of forcing us to do it.

With me and my family the illegal situation will be at the top of my list when we plunk down our votes. I am definitely NOT VOTING for either O'Malley or Leggett. These two betrayed us by welcoming the illegals with open arms. I even sent Mr. Leggett a detailed e-mail and either he or one of his cronnies wrote me back giving me DOUBLE TALK as to how poor they are, and how fortunate we are to live in the land of oppurtunity. I agree with that but what gives these two the right to up and welcome them here and at the same token take our tax dollars to support them? I say it's time to really think about the future and get people like O"Malley and Leggett out of office! I am willing to take up arms to get them out. Why work if all my money is going to go to them while they hang out at 7-11's pan handling and getting my wages? Maryland really is going to the dogs, illegals and the thugs; especially Montgomery County, Maryland.

Send the immigrants who gather on the corrner in front of the Centreville library to stand on the corner of the street on which connoly lives. See how much of that he can take....30-40 of them every day.

I'm proud of the Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. It's about time a political leader courageously took a stand against the ugliness that's destroying our communities. Let the rational people move out of Prince William County. I'm staying in Fairfax!

Mr. Connolly claims that he has this county on the right track, which track is he on? He seems to always side with the builders who come in and tear up our lands to put up more and more housing without a thought to the schools needed, the roads to support these new roads or the number of Police Officers needed to handle the influx. I'm can only imagine why he is against doing anything against the illegal population in this county, his friends in the building industry wouldn't be able to survive if they had to pay an American a decent wage. Connoly is on the side of big business and has always been on there side, forgeting that the people of Fairfax County are the ones who suffer for his gain. Mr. Connoly, please step aside and allow someone to take over that cares about the actual taxpayers of the county. I have almost always voted Democrat, this year looks like it will be an exception for me and my family. We will vote for the person who is willing to stop feeding our tax money to illegals and overcrowding our land and roadways. Mr. Connolly is a politician who is only concerned about his friends. We need to get Politicians out of all offices and put those in office who still believe in serving the best interest of the public, not special interest. It's time we clean house(local on up to the white house).

I would love to see WJAL do some SERIOUS reporting on the election.... the few bits and pieces they give us is just NOT ENOUGH!!! how about a list of all the candidates in Northen Virginia and where they stand!!!????

I have lived in PW county for over a year, and I have no idea who I will be voting for, because their names are not mentioned anywhere!!! and I certainly do not trust campaign propaganda.... I will certainly vote for the PW county board in it's entirety, they deserve it....

I do have to agree with Connolly in one thing: politicians will say anything to get elected, and they will promise things they can't do in order to win.... BUT, that should not stop them from trying and that should not stop them for looking for better solutions....

Dear Mr. Connolly: here is something the state of Virginia can do about illegal immigration:.... how about ask for proof of citizenship when asking for a driver license.....NOBODY should get a license in the state if they can't prove they are here legally.... for those with 'temporary-legal-status', we can certainly create a special license with an expiration date.....

I've driven all over the country in the last two years and I strongly suspect that many Americans don't realize how bad this situation really is if they live in places where the illegals haven't congregated. I went into a Wal-Mart in Austin, Texas and did not hear one word of English. Irving, Texas is Mexico. I've driven through massive expanses of Denver without seeing one non-Latino face when the Census tells us they should represent 1 out of 6, more or less. New Orleans was invaded after the hurricane. I know, I worked there. Don't tell me there are 12 million illegals in this country. I know better. 40 million is the current estimate by government-independent analysis and my personal experience is that it is probably higher than that. When you walk into a Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Garden City, Kansas at 3 o'clock in the morning and and you see one non-Latino face out of the maybe 40 (not sure-just a guess?) Latinos that are stocking the shelves, it makes you suspicious. When you ask a couple of them questions and they don't understand you, it makes you more suspicious.

What American Citizens don't realize is that, until they get a Washington D.C. Lobbyist to represent them, they are competing against organizations like the National Council of La Raza and MALDEF who have millions and millions to sling the way of our representatives. American Citizens need a lobbyist. Being able to vote someone out of office every 2 or 6 years isn't enough power to control these traitors during the interim. Money talks, citizen voters walk.

These so called polls are not worth the ink they are printed with. The Washington Post and the rest of the media should go door to door to the American public and you will learn that at least 85 or 95 percent of theses working people want the illegals out of here. The Gov.officals have made a mistake and have forgotten our American history that when the people have had enough of this illegal takeover we will prevail with or without you. Arlington and Alexandria have made a big mistake at the expense of the tax payers and as the old saying goes, "Do not bite the hand that feeds you" We tax payers are that hand !!!! How can the Washington Pravda say that the Democrats will win anything in an article concerning immigration. It was the Demoncrats who authored the amnesty bill that was a sellout of America and they found a weak RINO president to champion the traitorous bill. It took "We the People" to stop that crime.

With the thousands of illegal aliens/terrorists out of Virginia and that Al-Qaeda training camp closed down on Route #1 in Mount Vernon the transportation problem created by the politicians won't be nearly as bad.

Though my state senator and delegate or pro-illegals they also don't have any opponets this year so unless there is a third party I won't be voting in that section of the ballot but I will be supporting any candidate of any party who pledges to eradicate the illegal aliens/terrorists from the counties and the State.

Connolly's got to go and so do all of his type of greasy politicians.

Connolly better wake up and listen to the voters instead of the illegal immigrants. It's the VOTERS who are keeping him in office. So he better deal with this Illegal Immigrant problem or else he can kiss his chances of winning good bye.

Connolly... plan your vacation. I am sick and tired of everyone to busy pointing fingers at everyone else, crying racism, and worried that the subject is "unpalatable". Illegal is illegal Gerald, no gray, no coloring outside the line... no special circumstances. Illegal, look it up. There is an invasion taking place right under our noses, people are fed up and if you wont do something then we will replace you with someone that will. I sure hope you took notes regarding Herndon & Prince William... they get it.
