Clemson Coach Doesn't Mind Tailback's Words

Clemson coach Tommy Bowden says he doesn't mind when his players act confident, even when their comments are guaranteed to wind up in the opponent's locker room. Star running back James Davis promised this week the Tigers will win at Maryland on Saturday - even though they have lost their past two ACC games, and have dropped two of three road games to the Terps.
Bowden says Davis was just showing leadership after being pushed by coaches to speak up and inspire his teammates.
Davis says he was just stating a fact - that Clemson has to win every ACC game it has left if the Tigers want to have a shot at the league's title game.
