Man Charged in Tanker Truck Hijacking
   posted 6:31 am Thu October 25, 2007 - Baltimore
Investigators say they have made an arrest in the hijacking of a diesel fuel tanker truck in Baltimore last week. Willie Orlando McKinnon, 43, of Hyattsville, was arrested by Prince George's County and Baltimore police in Hyattsville about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was charged with armed robbery, hijacking and theft.

Prince George's police spokesman Cpl. Arvel Lewis said McKinnon's arrest came after police received information from residents.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?FBI agents executed a search warrant at the Springhill Lake Apartment Complex in Greenbelt Tuesday afternoon. Agents had an arrest warrant, but apparently couldn't find their suspect.

The tanker truck carrying 7,100 gallons of diesel fuel was taken at gunpoint from a city fuel depot early Oct. 19, then found later in Southeast D.C., police said.

The home heating oil from the tanker was found in an underground storage tank in the 3,000 block of Martin Luther King Ave. in Southeast.

Authorities have questioned the gas station owner by he is not being charged at this point. Investigators say the owner claims he was not expecting a delivery and is not sure why it was dropped off.

The station was not expecting a delivery and was not sure why it was dropped off. Perhaps (giving him the benefit of the doubt) the owner was not on the scene when it was dropped but if he were then why did he not question. How many of us would know how to "drop off" fuel at a gas station LOL. These people are so stupid I almost feel sorry for them but not really. Glad the drive was found in Hyattsville and not Springhill Lake Apt.
