Jeez - sdoes omebody need a little time out? His qualifications are that he is a United States Citizen and over 25 years of age (having lived here for 7 years - time in uniform overseas counts). Unless Mr. Gavin has a different version of the Constitution, that's all the qualification he needs to run. Having said that, the fact that he was willing to sacrifice his safety and comfort to serve his country tells me that he is more qualified than 90% of those currently serving in Congress. Have a nice day Mr. Gavin and don't forget to refill that prescription!

Why shouldn't he serve? Exactly what qualifications are required to serve your state or country? Wanting to better your fellow man should be enough. There is always someone ready to go after someone who just wants to serve the public. Get a life Mr. Gavin and stop being so paranoid.

Nothing in the article gives any indication of why he should be a representative. His being a teacher, I would say, is a strike against his if he teaches in a public school system and he is a part of the communist/socialist subversion of young American minds and possibly subjecting the children to homosexual and perverted moral teachings.

The statement that he received a Bronze Star is deceiving, and probably meant to be that way, because it does dot mention the one of three catagories for which it may have been awarded. Everyone is very well aware of the fraud perpitrated by the military in issuing their decorations as evidenced by the perposterous medals showered on the like of John Kerry. The idiots of Virginia have fallen for the hype of routine military service already by electing a narcissist for a Senator who spends the vast majority out of the state seeing to the business of other politicians of his own predigree and advancing their planks of the manifesto.
