Orioles Name Former Player John Shelby As Coach

The Baltimore Orioles said John Shelby, who played on the Orioles' 1983 world championship team, has been named the team's first base coach.
Shelby spent the last two seasons as first base coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Previously, he had worked 14 years for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Orioles also announced that Lee MacPhail IV has been named special assistant to the president of baseball operations, and Brian Graham has been appointed special assignment coach for the minor leagues.
