WASHINGTON - Metro officials confirm an unresponsive male was found on a portion of the transit agency's Red line track that was not being used for traffic.

At this time, officials say it is unclear how the man got onto the tracks near the Friendship Heights station, but initial reports indicated that a man had slipped and fell, suffering only minor injuries.

Metro says they were single-tracking the Red line because of work being done on a switch malfunction when the discovered the man.

The Friendship Heights Station is located at 5200 Wisconsin Avenue in the District. Stay with ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 for more information as it becomes available to us.
