- The contest is over and the votes have been counted. Chasity Thompson is the winner of the first annual ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 iWitness pumpkin carving competition.

iWitness viewer Chasity Thompson overwhelmingly won the contest with her rose pumpkin. 

Lisa Brown of Great Mills, Md., came in second with her bulldog pumkin.

Some of the submissions were featured on ABC 7 News at 6 p.m. Creativity is the name of the game.

Readers voted for their favorite submissions. The grand prize: the respect and admiration of fellow ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 viewers and wjla.com/news8.net readers.

Up next: ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 will be looking for the best holiday decorations. Expect that contest to officially commence after Thanksgiving.
