Annapolis, Md. - The job of an employee who sued Gov. Martin O'Malley's administration for wrongful termination last year is among the 40 state jobs cut this week.

Nelson Reichart says his position as real estate manager for the Maryland Aviation Administration was eliminated.

The layoffs are part of the budget cuts approved by the state Board of Public Works this month.

Reichart sued O'Malley for firing him as assistant secretary to the Maryland Department of General Services. His firing came a day after he made comments to a newspaper questioning a land deal.

Shaun Adamec, a spokesman for O'Malley, says the job cuts have nothing to do with the people in the positions. Adamec says no one wanted to make the cuts.
